As a nine-month-old, Olsen began her career acting on TV in Full House. The role was shared by Mary Kate Olsen. Best known for her roles on the soap opera Guiding Light and as Marina Cooper on the soap opera Guiding Light and Marcy Bender in the soap opera Dawson's Creek. The actress was featured in two episodes of Showtime's Weeds with Mary Louise Parker. Her most well-known role is her performance as Judy Kramer from the 2005 Fox TV series Point Pleasant and Marcy Brender from the Dawson's creek series. As a character on the Guiding Light soap production, she played Marina Cooper. This role earned her an award nomination from the Soap Opera Digest magazine in 2003, for the Outstanding Newcomer. Dollar played in the ABC soap opera Women's Murder Club as Cindy Thomas between 2007 between 2007 and in 2008. Dollar starred on the 2012 NBC Happy Valley pilot which did not get picked up.
